Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we finally got the ambition to carve our pumpkins (actually I had been waiting all day, Jeremy, on the other hand, was not too excited to start!) Dallan didn't want anything to do with the pumpkin carving, in fact he just sat on the floor looking at a book. Jeremy and I were a little disappointed, and really wondered if it was even going to be worth our time! My duty was to pick out all the seeds, while Jeremy gutted the pumpkins. We'll see how the seeds turn out, but after all that, they better taste good!!! Jeremy had decided he was going to try a new carving technique he learned from the Food Network (he doesn't watch this because he wants to, I promise. I do make him watch it on Sunday afternoons. Who doesn't love the Food Network Challenges? - they are the best! Well, he's a sweetheart and puts up with it, but it seems like he must have enjoyed it a little!) He didn't have a pattern or anything he just started carving. After about 10 minutes, he just about gave up, but I told him to be patient and it will turn out.

After hours of concentration-- here's his completed pumpkin- it turned out amazing! Can you believe this? He really is quite the artist - when it comes to tractors anyway! Nothing Runs Like a Deere! My pumpkin turned out pretty cute as well, but I'll have to give most of the credit to the nice little stencil book we bought! I am not creative enough to come up with my own design, and it is really the only way my pumpkin would turn out very well!

Have a Happy Halloween!
