Christmas

Santa found us again this year. He ate his cookies and left presents plus some. The first thing Dallan noticed was that Santa ate his cookies, but not ALL of them. Santa left crumbs and Dallan didn't like that too much! We then said, "Dallan, Look! Santa brought you a bike and some presents!" His eyes lit up like you wouldn't believe. Just a precious moment to see the magic in his eyes. Just for the record, Santa did bring both the bike and the helicopter (bottom left picture). Paisley was a good girl this year too. Santa brought her a little doll, some clothes and a few toys. She, of course, was more interested in the tree and the wrapping paper more than any present. I think Dallan unwrapped all of her presents. So I have to write down what had happened on Christmas Eve so I won't forget it. We were all sitting of the couch watching some tv, getting ready for bed. I looked out the window and got startled. It looked like someone was looking in the window. As I looked closer, I realized it was a deer. I said, "Dallan, Look. It's one of Santa's reindeer. He's looking in to make sure all the kids are in bed." We got up to the window to take a closer look and the deer hopped away. We went back to the couch and Dallan said, "I better get to sleep" and was out in less than 5 minutes. It had to be one of the neatest things to see. I mean when does a "reindeer" walk up to your window and look in on Christmas Eve. Dallan was a pretty special boy this year. I love to see what Christmas is through the eyes of a child. It really is magical.
